Back to Latest News

Congratulations, Blessing. On Monday 13 May 2019, she represented St Martin's at the Regional Final of the Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Challenge. Hosted by The Elmgreen School, It was a fantastic event full of inspirational speeches presented by students from Year 10, across  a number of Lambeth schools.

These are the results of the Lambeth Regional Final and we congratulate them all. The overall winner  will go on to represent Lambeth at the Semi Final competing against other regional winners.

  • 1st place went to Serena from Saint Gabriel’s College.
  • 2nd place went to Jaykoda  from Dunraven School.
  • 3rd place went to Chelsea from The Norwood School.

Councillor Ibrahim Dogus, Mayor of Lambeth, and Helen Hayes MP were also present at the evening to support the students and to present awards to everyone, including the winners.

We are all very proud of you Blessing, it was not an easy thing to do standing in front of a huge audience and speaking so fluently without notes for the allocated time. We were all cheering you on! You are a role model for the students in your year group and the younger students and a  great ambassador for St Martin's.
