St Martin’s raises an Incredible £1116.91 for Tanzania Charity

For most of last term we were busy across the school raising money for our school charity The House of Luhuvilo, children's home in Tanzania. The final pennies have been counted, and we now are ready to send off our cheque for an incredible £1116.91!

This total was the result of enthusiasm and generosity from every corner of the school. From cake sales organised by y7 and y11, to a dodgeball match organised by Y11, the fundraising activities added fun to our days. Some form tutors match funded donations by their classes, other teachers willingly had wet sponges thrown at them in the name of a good cause. A special mention has to go to form 7R who raised over £187 by doing sponsored chores at home.

Rev. Nicky Teverson said  “THANK YOU so much for all your hard work raising much needed funds for the charity The House of Luhuvilo.”

We are delighted that these funds will go towards creating a safe place where street children can live, learn and grow.
