St Martin's Day

The whole school celebrated a joint service commemorating St Martin's Day and Remembrance day on the 11th of November.

Rev Sam Wells, from St Martin-in-the-Fields church came to preach and lead our communion service at Holy Trinity Tulse Hill. He reminded us of the story of St Martin, a Roman soldier who gave half of his cloak to clothe a homeless beggar, and how we all can show care and compassion to others in our own way. We also took part in an act of remembrance, keeping a minute’s silence as we thought of people who had lost their lives and suffered in wars.

Taking part in this service as a school community helped us to feel united in a common purpose, and reminded us of our four school values: service, compassion, justice and perseverance.
