Eid Mubarak!

We want to wish a happy Eid to everyone in our school community who has celebrated this week. We held a special Eid celebration assembly to celebrate with our Muslim students and staff. Two of our year ten students spoke very eloquently on what Eid means to them, and how they celebrate the festival.

“Eid is a thanksgiving to God for giving strength, patience and perseverance to complete the Ramadan fast. The main purpose of the fast is to get closer to God, to draw closer to Him, to do good and be a better person. Eid is a time of celebration with family and friends and that means presents! - I was up all night wrapping presents.” Mariam

“In the morning we go to an early prayer to the mosque, but most mosques hold prayers outside in parks so that everyone can attend, This year I went to Al Hidayah park with my big family - all my cousins, aunties, uncles, family friends.  After the prayers we had a big picnic, we played games and had family time with lots of presents!” Ashraah
